When to get in touch
When it can’t wait.
Start with the problem you can see. You don’t need to know which pipe or part has failed to ask for help.
- Water escaping from a pipe or connection
- Wastewater backing up into a fixture
- A water heater leaking onto the floor
- A sudden loss of water or major change in pressure

How we work
How we approach an urgent plumbing call.
- 01
Tell us what’s happening
Describe the active problem, the property address and whether the water or wastewater is still escaping.
- 02
Understand the immediate work
We assess the concern and explain what can be addressed now, along with anything that needs a separate plan.
- 03
Get it done
Once availability and the work are confirmed, we address the urgent problem and explain any follow-up repair.
Pricing & planning
Know the work.
Know the cost.
We start by assessing the urgent problem and explaining the work needed. The repair cost depends on the cause, access and parts required.
Plus any repairs needed. We explain the proposed repair and its cost before work begins.
Start with what is happening
- Active supply leak: explain whether it is contained and whether the affected area is accessible.
- Drain or sewer backup: identify the first affected fixture and whether another fixture causes the water level to rise.
- Sudden loss of water: note whether every fixture is affected and whether a utility notice has arrived.
- Water-heater problem: distinguish no hot water from visible leaking, unusual sounds or a displayed error.
Before a visit
Stay out of water near electrical equipment and keep people and pets away from wastewater. Do not continue using fixtures that are backing up. If there is immediate danger, leave the affected area and contact emergency services. Avoid opening equipment or attempting unfamiliar shutoffs. Photograph from a safe, dry position and provide a reachable callback number.
Define the immediate and permanent work
Stabilizing an active problem and completing the permanent repair may involve different work. Access, the affected equipment, materials, the timing of the request and any other trades can affect the scope. Ask which parts of containment, repair and cleanup are included, and what needs a separate plan.
Scheduling, permits & warranties
The address, scope, materials and any required inspections determine the schedule. We discuss service interruptions, approvals and work by other trades before you decide.
Your written estimate should identify the applicable manufacturer and workmanship warranty terms, including any exclusions. Coverage is specific to the agreed work and equipment.
Before we get started
Emergency plumbing questions.
Have a question about your property? We’re happy to talk it through.
Emergency serviceDo you offer emergency plumbing outside regular business hours?
Yes. H2O Plumbing Authority offers 24/7 emergency plumbing service, including weekends and holidays. Call (512) 730-2104 with your location and the problem. We confirm arrival timing directly.
Does an urgent request confirm an arrival time?
No. We first need to check your location and our availability. An urgent request does not reserve an arrival time; we confirm the next step with you directly.
What should I say on the call?
Tell us the property address, what is happening and when it started. Mention any water still leaking, fixtures backing up or difficulty getting into the property.
Can the problem be fully repaired during the first visit?
Sometimes, but we cannot promise that before checking the problem. Access, the fault and the parts needed all matter. We explain what can be dealt with now and whether further work needs to be arranged.
Should I take a video?
A short video can help show a problem that comes and goes, provided you can film from a safe, dry position. A description is enough if getting a video would put you near a hazard.
